GME ANNOUNCES THE LICENSING OF A CLIP FROM JONAS MEKAS “WALDEN” TO THE BBC'S "ANDY WARHOL'S AMERICA" DOCUMENTARY SERIES

GME provided this classic scene of the Velvet Underground’s maiden performance at the New York Society for Clinical Psychiatry from Jonas Mekas’ WALDEN: DIARIES, NOTES AND SKETCHES (1969).

The 3 part BBC series covers Warhol’s glorification and critique of American culture, his changing response to the country’s major historical events and finally, the artist as as a man obsessed with money and security. In his eary Factory days, Warhol was instrumental in the formation of the Velvet Underground, featuring Lou Reed, John Cale, Nico and others, and who went on to be one of the most ground-breaking and influential bands in history.
